• Mr. Freiwald is seeking class certification in a case involving claims of toxic contamination of groundwater and air at a lakeside residential community in Northern Illinois. The federal action, filed in Philadelphia against chemical giants Rohm and Haas and others, seeks medical monitoring costs in light of more than a dozen rare brain cancers among residents of this small community. • The firm represents churches in five states who purchased Ford 15-passenger vans. The vans have been linked to design defects that have resulted in a significant number of roadway accidents. The cases, part of a multi-district litigation pending in Federal Court in New Jersey, seeks compensation for individuals, churches, organizations and others that purchased these vans, as well as punitive damages.
